Where were YOU today?

So, ladies (and gentlemen? maybe?), where were YOU today between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm? Well, I'll tell you where you SHOULD have been...

SuPpOrT gRoUp! (I haven't written anything like that since 8th grade, that was fun!)
Every Wednesday from 4:30 - 6:00 at Layton LDS Family Services
What do we do?

Thanks for asking! Caseworkers, counselors, birthmothers, expecting mothers, and other support (including single mothers, family members, and birthfathers and expectant fathers) get together to eat food and, well, support each other. Every week we have an activity or discussion focused on the struggles of dealing with an unplanned pregnancy. This group is for support only, and is not meant to pressure parenting or placing. It's a wonderful way to make friends and meet people who know (at least a little) how you feel, or what you are going through.

Today, we did a creative object lesson, and since it was just birthmothers (a rare occurrence!), we talked about some ways to go about painting our adoption stories in a positive light when it's brought up, and encouraging open adoption. Okay, and we also griped about stupid things people sometimes do or say to an unwed expectant mother, single mother, or birthmother. We were all laughing pretty hard. It's a great place to ask questions, brag, and talk about concerns or fears. We're here for each other. There's no place like group. :-)

Can't wait to see you there!
